MRA Group’s Spring House Innovation Park (SHIP) Pump Stations
Lower Gwynedd, PA – Completed October 2020
Spring House Innovation Park is a lab, research and development campus that is comprised of 14 buildings. The sanitary and chemical distribution systems include pump stations for each building. To support the campuses’ lab and research activities while protecting the municipal effluents system, Trefz completed this project to upgrade the chemical distribution and pump stations. New pump stations included new duplex pump systems, PH monitoring, level monitoring, replacement of piping systems with welded stainless steel, addition of a metering pit for all effluent and rehab or replacement of existing pits.
New central receiving and storage tanks were provided to allow for any unsuitable or hazardous effluent to be detected, diverted, and stored for removal or treatment prior to release. This fully automated system was networked on campus to a new central control system to all for remote monitoring, alarming, and control. Trefz’s contract included all site plumbing and electrical distribution, excavation, backfill, rigging and control work associated with the upgrade. Temporary bypass pumping and timely shutdowns were utilized to complete the work with zero interruption to the campuses sanitary and chemical systems during the construction.
