Spring Garden Elementary School

Trefz Mechanical was tasked with complete gut and reconstruction work for the ~70,000-square-foot elementary school. The contract included all mechanical and general construction. The project included:

• All new floors and ceilings in the classrooms
• Ceilings in all corridors
• Removal of all unit ventilators
• Provision of new central chilled water and hot water plants, air handlers and rooftops throughout
• New chilled water and hot water distribution system
• New ductwork distribution systems throughout

This work was completed under extraordinary circumstances not only due to the tight construction schedule of three months but also during the COVID-19 pandemic. Critical to the project’s success was the superior project management, accurate scheduling, the creation of multiple shifts and collaboration with all parties including owner, contractors, and design team.
